NBT Soccer is a nonprofit youth development program that uses soccer as a tool to provide our youth with opportunities to learn social, emotional, and practical skills needed for personal and academic success. We remove barriers, so low income youth from all homes are welcomed to experience the joy of soccer and have access to quality skill building opportunities.
In our words, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is the focus on social and emotional skills of how to interact with others, how to understand yourself, how to behave in a way that you’re suppose to in different settings. The five core building blocks of SEL are self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making.
Our curriculum is designed to create a safe space that supports SEL by building positive relationships, encouraging creative behavior, and using restorative circles to discuss group issues or reflect on emotions.
Our community is the foundation of our club and we’re grateful for all the support from local businesses and other organizations!
We proudly extended our reach beyond the soccer pitch, participating in a range of community events such as Louisburg College Fill the Hill event, the Town of Franklinton Christmas Parade, free community clinics and programs.
